St. Mary's of Lancaster senior midfielder Michaela Panella is the Bee Group Newspapers' Athlete of the Week for the Nov. 27 editions. Panella recently helped the Lady Lancers' girls soccer team win their first Catholic state title in school history and finish with a 20-0-1 record. The University at Wisconsin commit finished the season with 22 goals and a single-season school record 31 assists.

The Town of Amherst took a big step in honoring diversity Monday when the Amherst Town Board unanimously voted to rename the main library after the Hon. Shirley Chisholm.

Amherst Councilwoman Angela Marinucci sponsored the resolution to rename the Amherst Main Library at Audubon after former U.S. Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm, who was the first woman of color to be elected to Congress and to run for president. The town board voted to rename the Amherst Main Library at Audubon as the Honorable Shirley Chisholm Library following a public hearing on the renaming.

The Williamsville Wall of Fame recognizes distinguished alumni of the Williamsville Central School District who serve as role models for students.
The Wall of Fame is sponsored, in part, by the Williamsville Education Foundation, Inc., which hosts the Induction Ceremony and presents commemorative display plaques to the honorees, their high school alma maters, and the school district. The next Wall of Fame Induction will take place Friday, Nov. 13, 2026.
