The Village of Williamsville was the site of one of the over 2,500 No Kings protests taking place across the country Saturday against the Trump administration. Roughly 7 million people protested against Trump's policies across the country with an estimated 2,000 in Williamsville and thousands in downtown Buffalo. Here are a few photos from Saturday. On Tuesday, Nov. 4, Amherst residents will go to the polls to choose two new town board members.
Current Deputy Supervisor Shawn Lavin’s and board member Jacqualine Berger’s seats are all up for election, but due to term limits, none of them can run again for their current posts having already served two consecutive terms. The slate of Democratic candidates are John B. Davis and Jack Kavanaugh for town board. On the Republican side, John Trabert and Mary Dormer are running to fill the two town board seats.

The race for Amherst supervisor is heating up with voters headed to the polls in a couple weeks on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
Current Deputy Supervisor Shawn Lavin is the endorsed Democratic Party candidate for supervisor and businessman Dan Gagliardo is the endorsed candidate for the Republican and Conservative parties.

On Sept. 24 shortly after midnight, Amherst police responded to the 300 block of Joe McCarthy Drive for the report of a shooting. One victim, with a gunshot wound, was transported in a private vehicle to a local hospital, with non-life threatening injuries.
On Oct. 9, 2025, Keshai C. Hunter, 20, was taken into custody and
charged with the following offenses related to the shooting:
● Criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree
● Robbery in the first degree
● Assault in the second degree
The suspect was processed at Amherst Police Headquarters and held pending arraignment in Amherst Town Court. No further information will be released at this time
