The Old Home Days Parade will take place tonight, Tuesday, July 15 along Main Street in the Village of Williamsville. The parade will begin at 6:30 p.m., with road closures starting at 6 p.m. The parade kicks off Old Home Days, which runs through Friday.
Main Street between Youngs Road and Union Road will be closed to all traffic for the parade.
The Amherst Police Department encourages motorists to plan ahead and use alternate routes to avoid delays.

JUST IN: Officer-involved shooting under investigation in Amherst. At approximately 5 p.m. Saturday, July 12, officers with the Amherst Police Department responded to a 911 call regarding a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 4800 block of Bailey Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers encountered an adult male suspect armed with a knife. During the encounter, the suspect stabbed one of the responding officers. In response to the immediate threat of deadly force, another officer discharged their firearm, striking the suspect.
Both the injured officer and the suspect were transported to the Erie County Medical Center for treatment. The officer was treated for stab wounds and later released. The suspect is currently in stable condition at ECMC, under police custody.
The incident is under active investigation by the Amherst Police Department in conjunction with the Erie County District Attorney’s Office and the New York State Attorney General’s Office.
The officers involved were equipped with body-worn cameras, and the department and the Erie County District Attorney’s Office are in the process of reviewing the video footage. Portions of the videos will be released at a later time.
The department said it appreciates the public’s patience as we complete a thorough and transparent investigation into this critical incident. No further information will be released at this time.

Breaking News: Amherst police are on scene at a home on North Bailey Avenue near the Boulevard for an alleged domestic violence call. According to witnesses, an officer was allegedly injured along with a suspect.
