Orchard Park resident Alexa Gioia to perform in Aurora Players’ outdoor production of “The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane” at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 1–3 and again Aug. 15–17 on the outdoor stage of the Roycroft Pavilion in Hamlin Park, 166 South Grove St. Admission is free.
Gioia will also be a part of Aurora Players’ fall musical, “The Bridges of Madison County,” which runs Oct. 10–12, 17–19 and 24–26.

After ten years of serving as Orchard Park town clerk, Remy Orffeo announces his retirement in a letter read by Town Supervisor Eugene Majchrzak at the Orchard Park town board meeting on July 16. Orffeo's retirement took in effect last Friday, July 25.
The town board also approved the appointment of Orchard Park Police Officer Christopher Tornabene to patrol lieutenant.

After 10 years of serving as the town clerk for Orchard Park, Remy Orffeo has officially retired, effective last Friday, July 25.

Tonight is the Return of the Blue and Red practice. The practice will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Highmark Stadium.
Abbott Road in front of the stadium will close to north and southbound traffic at 2 p.m. and will remain closed until the conclusion of the practice.
All stadium lots open at 3 p.m. All stadium lots west of Abbott Road are closed due to construction of the new stadium.
Drivers are asked not to park on the shoulder of the roadways for pedestrian safety.
Stadium gates open at 4 p.m. Intoxicated and unmanageable guests will not be permitted entry into the stadium.
Prior to the conclusion of the practice, Route 20A from Fieldhouse Drive to Route 219 will convert to two-lane, one-way traffic headed eastbound away from the stadium and Route 20A from Abbott Road to Southwestern Boulevard will convert to two-lane, one-way traffic headed westbound away from the stadium.

With New York Governor Kathy Hochul signing a distraction-free schools law, which prohibits the use of smartphones and other internet-enabled personal devices on school grounds for the entire school day, districts must finalize and publish their distraction-free policy by Aug. 1.
The policy will remain the same at the elementary and middle schools with cell phones and other devices off and put away.
At the high school, students will receive magnetically locked pouches that they can carry with them during the day. These pouches will remained locked and with the student until the end of the school day.

After receiving feedback, the Orchard Park school district’s Superintendent David Lilleck provided updates to the district’s distraction-free school policy at the July 22 board of education meeting.

The Orchard Park Lion Club's 30th annual car, truck and motorcycle show makes a return to the Village of Orchard Park this year for Quaker Days.
The event kicks off at noon next Saturday, July 26, at the Orchard Park Middle School, 60 S. Lincoln Ave.
The event will feature a variety of vehicles, music provided by Joe and the Shmoes, food and drinks, and Deke the Balloon Boy.

After a two-year hiatus, the Orchard Park Lions Club’s 30th annual car, truck and motorcycle show makes a return to the Village of Orchard Park this year for Quaker Days.

Quaker Days sees the return of two events held by the Orchard Park Police Department.
The department's third annual Touch-A-Truck will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, at Mangia Ristorante & Caffe, 4264 N. Buffalo St.
They will also host an open house and D.A.R.E. hot dog cookout on Tuesday, July 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. behind the Orchard Park Police Department at 4295 S. Buffalo St.

The Orchard Park Police Department will take part in this year’s Quaker Days celebration with two events designed to connect officers with the community in fun, family-oriented settings.

Salem Ben Abdallah, Julia Bogoevski, Rachel Cappello, Keaghan Duffy, Lana Hollins, Mary Kidney, Delorah Mast, Ashley Rozic, Drew Slotman and Julia Tills were awarded scholarships totaling in $8,500 from the Orchard Park Alumni Association.

Providence Farm Collective joins a wide range of nonprofits in taking action against the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Department of Government Efficiency, and other federal agencies for the alleged illegal withholding of important funding.
Back in April PFC received a funding termination letter from the USDA for its Beginning Farmers & Ranchers Development Program grant.

John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital is offering a bereavement camp on Tuesday, July 8, at Chestnut Ridge Park, located at 6121 Chestnut Ridge Road.
This free event is for children ages 5 to 18 who are struggling with the death of a parent or sibling. There they will get the opportunity to meet with child life specialists, learn techniques to work through grief, and connect with other attendees who are undergoing grief and loss.

Orchard Park's farmers market will run from 4 to 7 p.m. every Monday in July, starting July 7, on Princeton Place. The farmers market will feature over 20 vendors.

Making local history, the Village of Orchard Park will host its first farmers market in the heart of the village for residents and visitors to enjoy.
