Join , for their July Bike Ride in partnership with and —a ride dedicated to honoring Black women’s right to liberation and movement. RSVP REQUIRED ————————“This is more than a ride—it’s a space to free our bodies and our minds as we reflect on what the Black liberation struggle looks like in this moment, especially under the current Trump regime.
Together, we’ll explore what this means for ourselves, our families, and our communities.” -Colored Girls Bike Too.

Pictured here is Katherine T. “Kittie” Knox — a trailblazing cyclist, designer, and barrier-breaker. Born in 1874 to a free Black father and a white mother, Kittie made history in the 1890s as one of the few Black women in competitive cycling, boldly riding in custom outfits she designed herself and challenging racist segregation in the League of American Wheelmen.

“As we ride, we honor her legacy — riding for liberation, joy, and justice, just as she did over a century ago. “🚲✊🏾

Meet Ujima’s GODSPELL, choreographer Derrian Brown! ———- What’s a musical without a drop-your-jaw dance number?

Lucky for us, we’ve got the best of the best making sure we’re not only sounding good but looking good on that stage in September. Introducing our choreographer for GODSPELL, Derrian Brown!
Derrian received his BFA in Musical Theatre from the University at Buffalo. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, he began his career in Buffalo before settling in NYC. Though still early in his career, Derrian is proud to have been part of many amazing credits. He recently completed the international tour of Sesame Street Live, an experience that ignited so much for him.

Other stage credits include: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Barfee), for which he won the Katherine Cornell Award, The Color Purple (Grady/Dance Captain), The Little Mermaid (Sebastian), and more.

Recent directing/choreography credits include: The Music Man (Palace Theatre), Stranger Sings (Mel’s School of Music), The Lion King (Central School NJ), and The Sound of Music (Pembroke High School).

“I believe Godspell offers so much opportunity to break the chains of expectation and reimagine what has been. I am excited to help bring this show to life in a unique way that brings nuance to the story. I hope to engage the audience in a way that deepens their connection to the themes of Godspell“ -

Derrian thanks you for supporting live theatre and hopes you enjoy the show!

🧠 Live Political Education Session
🎤 Facilitated by Rev. Dr. Majadi Baruti

At the heart of this session is a live conversation and teaching on Black Liberation and its global political context—moving beyond the limits of mainstream narratives that reduce our struggle to just racism or white supremacy. Together, we’ll explore:

* What fascism actually is and other political concepts
* How oligarchies, dictatorship, neoliberalism, and racial capitalism impact Black life
* The urgency of organizing under the growing threat of authoritarianism and the Trump regime
* How Black liberation is connected to global movements for freedom

📚 This session will provide foundational knowledge for those new to these concepts, while also offering critical, nuanced analysis for seasoned organizers and learners.

🎙 Led by Rev. Dr. Majadi Baruti, griot, historian, community priest, and The Bell Blair Hooks Professor of Black Goddess Consciousness at The New Theology School. A fierce and loving teacher, Dr. Baruti brings 30+ years of grassroots organizing against patriarchy, misogynoir, domestic violence, and racial capitalism.

Let’s gather, repair, build, and liberate—together.
Because Black Liberation is Liberation for All.
