The Juneteenth Festival Inc.family came out dressed and ready to celebrate 50 years of legacy, love, and community. Friday Night, June 5, 2026 at Classics Five Banquet and Conference Center history was being made — and the energy in the room was everything.

Join at 6:00 pm Wednesday June 10th in the Ring of Knowledge at the Downtown Central Library 1 Lafayette Square for a special screening of selected short films from The Buffalo History Channel. This month, Director Doug Ruffin has curated a selection of documentary shorts about Juneteenth in Buffalo.

As Buffalo Spree described their November 2024 feature: “Doug Ruffin, owner of Urban Legacy Filmworks and founder/content curator of the Buffalo History Channel on YouTube, is dedicated to preserving and sharing Buffalo’s history with current generations. Launched in 2020, Buffalo History Channel’s more than 300 videos focus on Buffalo’s Black history, covering everything from the civil rights movement to entrepreneurship and the arts.”
