Band of Bards Band of Bards is a publisher of comics, graphic novels, and other media based in Buffalo, NY. Comics were an obvious choice. We saw this as needing correction.

Band of Bards Comics

Band of Bards was borne of a desire to collect oral histories from Veterans, record them with the National Archives, and then publish these stories as comics and graphic novels. We wanted to bridge the Civil/Military Divide in American society with a media format that properly served the subject matter while also being entertaining and widely accessible. The stories of

all Veterans - all services, eras, ranks, military specialties, and experiences - are underserved. Often if a story does not involve something glamorous or action packed the story is ignored. As we looked around American society in totality we recognized so many more underserved areas. This has driven us to expand the mission of Band of Bards to serve as a cataract for bringing these stories to a wider market. We will serve as a platform for a collective of creators with something unique to share with the world. Band of Bards stands apart as a rallying point for storytellers needing support in getting their books into the hands of readers. Simply put there are so many wonderful stories being left behind and it is to our own detriment. We seek to play our part in correcting this, producing high quality comics with enrapturing stories while serving a larger ideal. We stand for:
Freedom
Equality
Love

We stand against:
Oppression
Bigotry
Hate

These principles will guide us in our endeavor to bring readers new stories, stories that will challenge, stories that will bridge gaps, stories that will make us all better for reading them. Comics Serving a Greater Good

A GREAT & TERRIBLE #1 has just launched on Kickstarter!

For fans of Fairy Tail, Alice in Borderland, and The Wonderful Wizard of Oz! Liz is a messy, and bitter 20-something, barely keeping it together in a world that’s just as self-destructive as she is.

What if L. Frank Baum's Wonderful Wizard of Oz was based on a real family, with real problems? What if the Gale family was part of something bigger?

Liz has grown up in the shadow of a fairy tale spun from all of these loose threads, and it's all barely being held together. This 30-page comic is a prologue that explores Liz's life in New York City, and gives us a glimpse of what its like to be a girl running out of time.
