Loud Thoughts Our mission is to expand c*nn*bis-infused storytelling through human narrative. We want to dig deep into the roots of the plant and the very people behind it.

Our Zine is built to inform readers and showcase the many cultural frontiers of cannabis. The term “Zine” (pronounced zeen) came about in the 1930s, when Raymond Arthur Palmer and the Science Correspondence Club created the first science fiction “fanzine.” Later dubbed “Zine,” the new (and often underground) media modality would touch everything from political advocacy to music culture, art and th

e lived experiences of everybody in between. Just face it—inside all of us exists a beautiful tapestry of memories, colors and feelings. Our curated Zine and blog seeks to elevate this tapestry through a highly-unique journalistic experience.

As a growing digital publication, we have three Pillars of Smoke that guide our writing process:

- Accurate Reporting - Depict a genuine representation of cannabis and stemming communities.
- Historical Record - Preserve the many personal and public histories of the plant in society.
- Creative Intention - Imagine a new way to approach storytelling.

Many stories found in Loud Thoughts cover the evolving landscape in New York State. Despite this, The Hempire State is not our sole priority: cannabis knows no boundaries.
