Our Story

In 2005 Ofer Ziv invited internationally acclaimed author Meir Shalev to visit his college campus at Sarah Lawrence College. At the time Ofer was a student with a creative writing major, and Shalev his favorite Israeli writer. Surprisingly, Shalev accepted the invitation to visit SLC, but had a stipulation. He wanted to speak at several universities to justify the trip. Ofer embraced the task, and within a month he had Shalev booked at Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Rutgers, and Brown University. This was the spark that ignited the flame for The Lion House Agency. Now The Lion House Agency serves more than 15 of Israel’s top writers and filmmakers, and works with hundreds of venues across the U.S. and Canada. We’re proud to bring Israeli cultural icons to share their art, and speak about the complex social fabric of the small country at the heart of the Middle East.
