Because of high demand and other schools reaching out to me about this scholarship, I will be extending it to ALL HIGH SCHOOLS IN WNY, INCLUDING CHARTER SCHOOLS.
In addition to the requirements above, when submitting your application, please provide:
• The name of the high school you are currently attending.
• A guidance counselor’s contact information so I can notify them of the winner and award.
• If you are 17 or under, a parent’s signature will be required for the winner to receive the prize and have their picture taken.
All submissions are due by May 15th, 2025. Your work will be posted on our webpage at Hungierecordz.com, along with your picture.

Clarification & Announcement: The Christian Portes Memorial Scholarship
To avoid any confusion, we want to make it clear that Buffalo Public Schools is not sponsoring this scholarship opportunity. This is an independent initiative created in honor of Christian Portes, aimed at giving back to our community and uplifting students in Buffalo.
Much like our annual backpack giveaway, where we select a school within four different Buffalo communities each year, we have chosen South Park High School as the recipient school for our inaugural scholarship. This means that one deserving student from South Park High School will have the chance to be awarded the first-ever Christian Portes Memorial Scholarship.
This scholarship is a tribute to Christian’s memory and legacy, supporting young students as they pursue their dreams and education. Our goal is to continue expanding this effort, reaching more schools and students in the years to come.
