Rusty car — is this safe to drive?

I recently got a 2005 Toyota Highlander from a family member. I’ve been driving it for a few weeks without any major problems, aside from a minor leak and some cosmetic issues. I finally checked underneath and found this section that is severely rusted and has several holes. This appears to be the only area with serious rust. Is the vehicle still safe to drive, or is this a structural concern that needs immediate attention? Is there a reasonable way to repair it? I have basic welding skills if that helps.

Please help me. 3 days and no movement.

Doing the whole knuckle assembly and I’m stumped. I’ve tried everything from a mallet(rubber)to putting a jack right under them. This is my second set of ball joint separators first were too small to fit. Since it worked effortlessly on the first two joints I assumed the larger one would do the same but no luck.

How can I get this done? Do I need a metal mallet? Is there anything that doesn’t require multiple tools to do this job? Is it seized? Do you think a mobile mechanic would just take the ball joints out so I can finish the rest?

I understand compressed air would be the most efficient probably I cant afford it tho. Uber is my main income and I’ve been out of work longer than a week. This is essentially urgent I’ll try anything.
