I got this vintage flower seed box, circa 1906, a while ago and always believed it would be a great way to give out free flower seeds that I’ve harvested over many years.
Here we are!
This weekend you can pick up complimentary seed packets at on Saturday for the Black Rock neighborhood cleanup organized by
will also have complimentary seed packets available!
What can you use the seeds for?
1. Plant in your garden
2. Throw into an unkept vacant lot. If no one is taking care of the lot, at least the neighbors can see some pretty flowers in 6 weeks.
3. Make paper maché pulp and add seeds to make seed balls. Throw the seed balls into vacant/abandoned/ underutilized urban lots.
4. Pass along to someone who loves cosmos
5. Once flowers bloom, use in cut floral arrangements, or use the petals as a natural dye for fabric or papers
Buffalo in bloom is the largest and best floral arrangement!
