✨ Happy Birthday, Rifat! ✨

Over 5 ½ years ago, during Covid, I met a remarkable young man—then just a senior in high school—who would change my life. I had been searching for a DaVinci editor for my show when my friend Mel Camp said, “I think I found your editor… but he’s young. Very young.”

From our very first Zoom, I knew I hadn’t just found my editor—I had found someone who would become one of the most important souls in my life. Through years of producing and adventuring together, our friends often called us the dynamic duo for the powerful media we managed to create with such limited resources.

Rifat has grown into a powerful colleague, a trusted friend, and sacred soul son. Anyone blessed enough to meet him knows the gift of his goodness, sincerity, and care.

Happy Birthday to one of the most extraordinary souls I know. 💛✨🎉

Many moons ago, as a college student, I sang for the Buffalo Bisons at the old “rock pile” stadium. One unforgettable day, after The Natural was filmed, Robert Redford appeared there. My job was to sing before he walked out and hand him the mic. As he approached, my 18-year-old heart nearly burst. He was even more striking in person, and when he smiled and said, “Good job, kid,” before giving me a hug, I felt like I was floating as I stepped off that field.

Robert Redford was larger than life, and his presence touched so many of us. Safe journey, you amazing soul—you will be deeply missed.
