One of my favorite things to do lately is ask my girls, "What does that/this mean?"

"What does kindness mean?"
"What does being brave mean?"
"What does respect mean?"

Sometimes their answers are completely silly, and they end up being goofy instead of answering the question. That's part of the fun.

But every now and then, they say something so profound and well thought through. All I can do is just smile and say "that's right baby".

Parking garage rooftop, sun going down, kids running around… and I’m just standing there thinking.

Being a Ta**us, I’ve always been wired to hold it down. Stay solid. Be the one people can lean on.

But cycle breaking?
That’s a different kind of strength.

That’s choosing patience when you’re frustrated.
Choosing presence when it’d be easier to check out.
Choosing love even if you didn’t grow up seeing it done right.

I’m learning it’s not just about being strong…
