Sometimes it’s just about trying different drums! We are fortunate enough to have many drums in our collection here at GCR Audio, so when we are chasing down a particular sound with an artist and they say they are looking for a kit that feels smaller than what we usually use, that’s a good opportunity to break out our Ludwig bop kit! With a 16” kick drum, 10” rack tom, and 13” floor tom it is the smallest kit combination that we have in-house. It provided us with exactly what we were looking for! New microphone alert! 🚨 We want to give a shoutout to Tonal Eclipse Microphones for connecting us with their “Hello, Operator?” microphone which is a rebuilt and modified Philco dynamic microphone that came from a mid-century Western Electric telephone receiver. It is ridiculously cool! Who wants to come down to put this gorgeous mic on their next recording!?
