What happens when everything you’ve worked for changes in an instant?

This week on Today with Pastor J, I sit down with Keith & Tanya of Cool Beans Barbeque and his teenage daughter Cassandra to hear their incredible story of survival, perseverance, family, and rebuilding.

After a devastating accident left Keith seriously injured and their food trailer totaled, Cool Beans Barbeque was out of commission for months. But the accident didn't get the final word.

Keith recovered, the family kept believing, and now Cool Beans Barbeque is back with a brand-new truck!

We’ll talk about the night that changed everything, the dangers of distracted driving, the difficult months of recovery, what his daughter learned watching her father refuse to give up, and what it feels like to finally get back on the road.

It’s a story that reminds us of 2 Corinthians 4:9: “Cast down, but not destroyed.”

Who Will Control Florida’s Classrooms?

Florida’s school board elections are sending a message, and the future of public education may be changing faster than we realize.

This week on Today with Pastor J, I sit down with political strategist and author Chase Russell to examine what Florida’s recent school board races tell us about voters, parents, and the political battle over education.

At the same time, Florida’s school choice programs are expanding dramatically. Hundreds of thousands of families are choosing private schools, Christian schools, homeschooling, and other educational options, with education dollars increasingly following the child.

So I’m asking a bigger question: As families leave traditional public schools, what happens to the schools, their funding, and the political influence of the parents who leave?

Could conservatives be winning the battle for school choice while losing influence over the public school system? And what do the recent election results tell conservative candidates about how they must campaign differently going forward?

We’ll talk school board elections, parental rights, vouchers, grassroots campaigning, voter behavior, and what Florida education could look like ten years from now.
