(THis is a long one, but sometimes you gotta speak up.)
I know we're supposed to just laugh off outrageous behavior by performing artists, but I when I saw Miley "performance" I couldn't help but feel the same sinking feeling I did when Michael Jackson first grabbed his "personal" area. It was a step down, done to create impact but in essence it was a talent degrading himself. Where is the honor in that? And it degrades us all. Not a great deal, but it certainly wasn't a step up for Michael, and he set off a downward spiral that continues.
(Now a singer who does NOT grab themselves is newsworthy.)
I hope those around Miley don't let her self-destruct like those around the wonderful talent we knew as Michael Jackson did. What a senseless waste.
What saddens me most is that such behavior tramples the delicacy that makes the young generation so inspiring.
For example, when I was a teenager songs captured the soaring of the heart when we were swept away by love. This is the real engine of love. And so I'm providing links to the young people reading this, hoping it might restore your tenderness that is challenged every day by jackals and jerks. At the end of the day, they are but wagging tongues in the wind.
And so, I'm offering some healing lines from the Beatles' songs and links to their songs so you young-un's may get a little bit of delicacy back in your world for a few minutes,
"Well, my heart went "boom,"
When I crossed that room,
And I held her hand in mine..."

"I give her all my love,
That's all I do.
And if you saw my love.
You'd love her too.
And I love her."

There is much more to the Family of Man than degraded spectacles to shock, upset and confuse the young people.
I want to back up all the parents who work 24/7 to raise their children to be better than we are. It would have been much better that Miley would use her position and power to uplift, inspire and inform all the kids who look up to her. I don't know if Miley's aware of her place in our society. She seems to be personifying uninhibitedness and lack of responsibility.
Aren't there enough rich and powerful people doing that?
Love to all. Be your best. The Family of Man needs you.
There's plenty around being their worst.
