🔵 Mental Health Matters – And We’re Not Backing Down 🔵

Last week, we shared an important post about the trauma some storm chasers experience — including the heartbreaking reality of coming across dead bodies in the aftermath of storms.

The response? Many people were supportive. But some? Cold, cruel, and judgmental.

“You should’ve known better.”
“That’s the job, deal with it.”
“Don’t like it? Don’t chase.”

Let’s be very clear:

Storm chasers aren’t superheroes. We’re human beings. What we witness isn’t always beautiful structure or lightning bolts. Sometimes, it’s destruction, death, and scenes we can’t unsee. And guess what? That affects people. It should.

Mental health in this community matters — whether you're behind a camera, under the meso, or showing up to help after the storm has passed.

To those who think showing emotion is weakness: We respectfully disagree. It’s bravery. And we’ll keep speaking up for those silently carrying this weight.

Stay strong. Take care of each other. And let’s stop shaming people for being human.
