My God’s Given Gift Has Become My Crime!

A Personal Reflection on Faith, Persecution, Purpose, and Destiny.

By: Mayor Jefferson Koijee

There are moments in the life of a man when destiny and suffering meet, when purpose is misunderstood as rebellion, and when a gift from God becomes the very reason for persecution. In such moments, one is left to wrestle with a painful question.

Why does the very gift God placed within me become the reason I am hated, attacked, misunderstood, and targeted?
This question has stayed with me for years. Yet every time I search for an answer, I am reminded that what God ordains for purpose, men often resist out of fear.
I was born in Lofa County, in the northern region of Liberia, to humble and struggling parents.

I did not come from privilege, influence, or wealth. I was raised in the harsh realities of the slums and streets of Montserrado. There, I did not study poverty. I lived it. I did not hear about suffering from a distance. I experienced it myself.

Those streets became my classroom.
The struggles of ordinary people became my education.
The cries of the vulnerable became my calling.
Because I lived among them, I understood them. Because I suffered with them, I could speak their language. Because I walked their path, I carried their pain.

From my earliest days as a community organizer, I felt a deep responsibility to stand with the voiceless. That journey grew into national youth and student activism, where I became a voice for the hopes and aspirations of many young Liberians. In time, I was entrusted with the leadership of the Revolutionary National Youth League of the mighty Congress for Democratic Change.

But influence, especially when it comes from the grassroots, is often seen as a threat by those who believe power belongs only to them.
For nearly twelve years under the Unity Party government and the presidency of Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, I endured slander, mischaracterization, persecution, and repeated incarceration. My crime was never corruption or violence.

My crime was connection. It was my ability to relate to ordinary people, to inspire young people, and to mobilize those who felt forgotten.
When I later became Mayor, the youngest in the history of our country during the last six years of our administration, I became an even greater irritation to entrenched arrogance.

To them, it was difficult to accept that someone they considered a nobody, someone who grew up in the slums, could rise to become the chief administrator of the capital city.

I did not fit their expectations.
And so they decided I had to be brought down.
What God placed within me as a gift to connect, to uplift, and to lead was redefined as a threat. What heaven intended for service was presented as a crime.
As Scripture reminds us, “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil” (Isaiah 5:20).

Over the past six years, a deliberate and sustained effort has been made to destroy my reputation both at home and abroad. I became, in their eyes, an obstacle to power. They launched continuous campaigns of defamation, which eventually led to sanctions being placed on me without a single proven piece of evidence.

The approach was clear. Attack the man until the people begin to doubt the mission.
But even in this difficult season, God has remained faithful.
Despite everything that has been done and continues to be done against me, He has sustained me. Even under sanctions, He has opened doors for me to travel abroad and continue my academic journey. This is proof that what God has purposed cannot be limited by human decisions.

I have come to understand that truth has endurance. Falsehood may rise quickly, but it does not last. Time has a way of revealing what is real.
As the Word of God says, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn” (Isaiah 54:17).

I do not claim to be perfect. I am human, and I acknowledge my imperfections. But I remain grounded in faith. I believe that purpose is greater than persecution, and that God’s judgment is greater than human opinion.

The Liberian people remain the ultimate judges. They know my journey. They have seen my sacrifices. They understand that my strength does not come from privilege, but from shared struggle.

History will separate truth from propaganda.
Time will distinguish accusation from evidence.
If my gift to mobilize, to inspire, and to serve has become my crime in the eyes of men, then I accept it with humility. Because I know that what God has ordained cannot be undone by human hands.
So I stand today unbroken, unbowed, and unwavering.
Anchored in faith.

Strengthened by adversity.
Committed to the people.
My gift may have become my crime in the eyes of men, but in the sight of God, it remains my calling.
And a calling from God can never be cancelled by man.
To God alone be the glory. JTK.

House of Representatives passes a vote of no Confidence in Sheilk Kouyateh for failure to apologize.

By: Aloysius Chea

‎The House of Representatives has unanimously passed a vote of no confidence in Liberia's Ambassador at Large, Sheikh Moustapha Kouyateh following his reported refusal to apologize to lawmakers over allegations made that the Liberian Legislature is corrupt.

‎The action followed a communication submitted by Grand Bassa County, District #2 Representative Clarence Banks, who requested Plenary to take a decision on the matter after Kouyateh reportedly failed to comply with an earlier demand from the House to retract his remarks and issue an apology.

‎Lawmakers argued that the ambassador's comments undermined the integrity and credibility of the Legislature and that his refusal to apologize demonstrated disregard for the authority of the House.

As part of its decision, the House of Representatives has officially communicated its position to President Boakai, revealing that members of the House can no longer work with Ambassador Kouyateh in his current capacity due to what they described as his continued disrespect and disregard for the institution.

The House emphasized its commitment to maintaining mutual respect and constructive collaboration between the Executive and Legislative branches; while safeguarding the dignity and integrity of the people's elected representatives.

BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!

CDC SG Mayor Jefferson Koijee writes:

“CLASSIFIED NO MORE: WHAT THE BOAKAI-KOUNG REGIME DOES NOT WANT YOU TO SEE
CREDIBLE SOURCES IN WASHINGTON, D.C. HAVE HANDED US BOMBSHELL OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS AND THE EVIDENCE IS IRREFUTABLE.

The Boakai-Koung regime the same regime that cannot pay salaries, cannot stock hospitals with basic medicine, cannot protect citizens from extrajudicial killings, and cannot stop Guinea from encroaching on our sovereign territory has secretly hired a powerful Republican lobbying firm in Washington, D.C. to polish their image on the world stage.

The firm? BALLARD PARTNERS, INC. one of the most connected political lobbying operations in Washington. The contract was signed on May 18, 2026, by Samuel A. Stevquoah, Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, on behalf of the Republic of Liberia. The filing was received by the U.S. Department of Justice on May 29, 2026 and we have the document in our hands.

Here is what your tax money the money of poor Liberians, the money of families whose homes are being demolished without compassion is being handed over to a foreign lobbying firm every single month:
MONTHLY: $100,000
ANNUALLY: $1,200,000
OVER THREE YEARS: $3,600,000
THREE MILLION SIX HUNDRED THOUSAND AMERICAN DOLLARS.

Let that number sink into your heart for a moment.
Do you remember what Joseph Boakai and Jeremiah Koung promised the Liberian people before they came to power?

They looked into the eyes of suffering civil servants teachers, nurses, soldiers, clerks men and women who wake up before dawn to serve this nation and they promised cancellation
Of HARMONIZATION. They promised salary increases. They promised that the long nightmare of poverty wages would finally end. They shook hands. They raised their voices. They swore on the hope of every poor Liberian family.

Nearly THREE YEARS HAVE PASSED. Not a single civil servant has seen meaningful change in their pay. Families are still going to bed hungry. Children are still dropping out of school because a government worker’s salary cannot cover school fees. The promise of harmonization has been buried quietly, without apology, without explanation.

But here is what HAS changed in three years: President Joseph Boakai has constructed a PERSONAL VILLA estimated at TEN MILLION DOLLARS in his hometown of Foya. Ten million dollars. In Foya. While the very civil servants he promised to uplift cannot afford to feed their children.
We ask the regime directly and without apology: WHERE DID THIS MONEY COME FROM?

This is the question every Liberian deserves an honest answer to. Why is the regime conspicuously and shamefully silent on this? Why does no one in power dare address this heinous act committed against the dignity and interests of the Liberian people?

And now, the same regime that has delivered nothing to the poor the same regime overseeing rampant extrajudicial killings, unchecked police brutality, a flood of drugs into our communities, the slow collapse of our medical facilities where patients die waiting for basic medicine, the brutal demolition of poor people’s homes with gross insensitivity, and Guinea’s brazen encroachment on our sovereign land with zero response from leadership this same regime is spending ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS EVERY SINGLE MONTH to hire Washington lobbyists to make them look good to Americans.
They cannot do the work. So they are paying to disguise the failure.

Our hospitals are collapsing. Our people are suffering. Mystery killings go uninvestigated. And $3.6 million of Liberian public money flows to a lobbying firm in Washington, D.C.

Why is the media silent? We are telling you openly and without fear: our sources have informed us that deliberate pressure has been applied to keep this story buried. They tried to conceal it. They tried to bribe the media into silence. But our credible sources in Washington, D.C. are with us and the truth has arrived.

WE ARE ATTACHING THE OFFICIAL DOCUMENT FOR PUBLIC PERUSAL. Read it yourself. Share it with every Liberian you know. This is not rumor. This is not propaganda. This is a PUBLIC RECORD filed with the U.S. Department of Justice, National Security Division, FARA Registration Number 7070 -available for the world to see at fara.gov.

The Boakai-Koung regime is nearly three years old. Three years of broken promises. Three years of silence on killings. Three years of civil servants suffering. Three years of a regime building personal wealth while the nation bleeds.

SHARE THIS POST. TAG EVERY LIBERIAN AT HOME AND IN THE DIASPORA. THE TRUTH CANNOT BE LOBBIED AWAY. THE PEOPLE DESERVE BETTER. LIBERIA DESERVES BETTER.

Official FARA filing U.S. Department of Justice, received May 29, 2026. Contract signed May 18, 2026. A public record open to the world”.
