West is all about strategy, he’s treating this emotionally charged situation like a football game and just like after season 8 reunion, he’s going to find a ‘softer’ outlet to tell his side of things. New York Times most likely won’t be interested but I’m sure his podcast will. Just a theory so we will see! The backstage lunch scene with Amanda and West whining about people being mean to them was next level delulu. West saying Ciara is ‘just trying to get under’ Amanda’s skin left me speechless. Ciara doesn’t have feelings or emotions or pain, she isn’t mourning the betrayal from her best friend and the loss of a deep friendship. She’s just trying to get under Amanda’s skin. Hasn’t anyone ever taught Amanda to pay attention to how men talk about their exes? I can’t tell if she’s always been this way or West is bringing this side out of her because she’s really never had to show us what she’s made of in the past decade of being on the show. She’s older than West and the fact that she thinks he’s a good person to take advice from is just plain sad. She takes centering men to the extreme, maybe she has a future as a tradwife influencer when reality tv doesn’t work out. Lindsay and Carl’s segment truly had me in tears. He thanked her for her support and friendship and she gave him one of the best compliments a person can give. Yes, she was hard on him for 2 full years before she was able to let her guard down and let him in again but they both needed that. She needed to be sure he wouldn’t betray her again and he needed to be shown exactly why his life will always be better with Mother Hubbard as a part of it. I love their friendship and can’t wait to see what else they collaborate on in the future (Carl on In The City đŸ€žđŸ»đŸ€žđŸ»). If you didn’t watch In The City I highly recommend at least watching the first scene where Amanda, West and Ciara all get together and it’s just wild. Producers made a choice to have Amanda speak about it from her present ‘post West’ state of mind and the way it was edited was just perfection. Bring on part 3 and bring on official news about who’s coming back to the house for season 11!! We’re a month away!

I keep seeing the same comment ‘he didn’t even try to defend himself’ and a lot of that can be attributed to his inability to form sentences when he’s in the hot seat but I also think West refuses to be ‘the bad guy’ and end this relationship because he knows he’ll get even more heat if he decided to do so. I also think if Amanda told him she wanted to end things he wouldn’t fight for her even a little bit. It’s very clear by the way he acted in the reunion when he had to be told to care about her feelings and go after her. When he checked on her and immediately returned with a ‘she’s taking a beat’ and even after the break when he came back out without her again. He’s not waiting around for her to figure anything out emotionally. It’s still all about image for him and if that means being absolutely miserable in a toxic relationship to save a sliver of face, it’s worth the sacrifice for him. Amanda is no stranger to the ‘stay longer than she should’ game though so I think this standoff has staying power! It’s wild how well karma comes through

I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed such a poised but brutal takedown as this one. Dara knows West so well and Amanda should consider herself lucky that she was given such a succinct description of what her future holds if she stays with West. This was the ghost of Christmas future paying her a visit but unfortunately I don’t see it making much of a difference for her. We’ve reached the pattern recognition portion of my obsession with part 1 of the reunion. Why would Amanda say ‘we released the joint statement before we slept together’? Besides the obvious reasons of trying to downplay the seriousness and make the timeline look as ‘innocent’ as possible, I couldn’t get over West’s reaction to her when she said it. Not only was he about to answer, that alone was out of character for him, but his head whipped around so fast when she said ‘after the statement’. Something spooked him, she went off script and he was visibly agitated, it’s subtle with him but the man stares into space chewing on the inside of his mouth 90% of the time so to see him suddenly come to life had my sirens going off. Some people were saying ‘she meant the Kyle statement’ and that doesn’t track because she insisted things were ‘still PG’ when Ciara first asked her about it in early March. I truly think when Mia called her a side b*** she was so insulted that she decided to declare the date of consummation to land after the Meija sleepover in order to make it seem like she was never the side piece, at least not sexually. That there was no sexual overlap with her and Meija and that she’s someone who has far too much respect for herself to be anyone’s side piece, not even to THE West Wilson. This was her way of writing a more ‘storybook’ version of the beginning of their relationship. I think the timeline is most important to her because of that reason, not to soften the blow to Ciara or Kyle but to create a more storybook first chapter for her and West’s love story. What do you guys think?!!

Imagine using your husband as a decoy? More like imagine using your husband who is still in love with you to make West jealous. The WWHL clip is from April 28th when Lindsay was fresh off the reunion taping. I forgot to include ‘ear stuff’ in my first recap so I had to make a second post. I don’t have much more to say but I’ll be rewatching part 1 until we get part 2. It’s clear that true emotional intimacy, like eye contact, makes West uncomfortable but ‘ear stuff’ is totally cool. I loved Kyle’s comment about ‘how strongly could you have felt if you were still ‘figuring things out’’? He hasn’t said much to counter Amanda but I think he makes an excellent point here. Her stories don’t match up. It was either serious enough to breakup friendships and embarrass yourself publicly or it wasn’t that big of a thing and you could’ve nipped it in the bud before it became the wildfire it turned into. I know it’s hard for him to push back but he’s very smart and clearly is picking up on more lies than I think he’s expressing, at least in this first part. Hopefully he says more in the second and third part!!

This was one of the best edited reunions I’ve ever seen. Have we ever had a reunion intro more drama filled than that? Between Kyle and Lindsay and a 5 way call processing the ‘joint statement’ to the guys in the group discussing West’s ‘soft’ nudes to West realizing he screwed his boys over so badly that they didn’t even give him a heads up about his nudes leaking. Cinema. Pure cinema. Amanda acted like a petulant teenager the entire time and West might as well have been on another planet. Andy confirmed on his radio show that West had not found out about his family tragedy until after they filmed so we know that wasn’t the cause of his lack of participation. Ciara was as harsh as she needed to be and guess what? The truth hurts! Amanda has had other people to fight her battles for the past decade on this show and we’re finally getting a taste of what it’s like when she speaks for herself and let’s just say she clearly needs the practice. Lindsay’s West takedown came directly from all of her experience with clout chasers and man children over the past decade and she read him to filth. West only seemed to speak up when he felt the need to defend himself but not once to defend his girlfriend (or whatever). I guess everything he did this season to defend her was just to get in her pants and now that he’s got her, he can go back to the bare minimum. Thinking it would help their case to say they put out a joint statement prior to consummating the situationship is actually hilarious. So you wanted his dick so badly you chose public humiliation and destroying friendships over just saying ‘listen we’ve kissed a few times, kept it PG, maybe we just shelve this and talk to the people we care about first.’ NO CHANCE IN HELL. I have so much more to say about these two but want to end on a higher note. KJ’s story was so inspiring and knowing Ciara and Mia were there for him throughout his hospitalization shows how amazing they are as people and as friends. I so appreciate KJ being vulnerable and sharing what he went through. It’s not easy but he absolutely helped people feel seen and heard. Thank you KJ đŸ™ŒđŸ». Bring on part 2!
