Deborah Woodard has organized another interesting idea for a reading this Saturday afternoon at the Seattle Theosophical Library with E Briskin, Knox Gardner, Hank Hinnant, Rachel Karyo, Peter Nelson-King, Melanie Noel, and Susan Payne O'Brien.

So what is a Desire Path Reading? I am not sure! But an interesting way to challenge the readers as they make their selection from this huge, intense book!

This thin, unassuming book "Ardour: Poems from the Daud" by Matthew Rana with Nion Editions is one of the most ardently beautiful books of poetry I've read in *forever*. A gorgeous sense of sound and pacing through this work. ⁣
⁣
I am not familiar with the work of Ghalib or Urdu poetry, so I can't speak at all the "conversation" with this work that the book is having, but I enjoyed the conversation it was having with me. And always appreciate a book that makes me eager for my next read, whether more work by the author (not so easy in this case) or their inspirations. ⁣

Highly recommended! So gorgeous. I got my copy during a stop to drop inventory at , but this would be easy for any independent bookstore to order for you.

An intriguing evening last week at Wayward Music Series— thanks to Peter Nelson-King and his composition "Appunti" inspired by the work of Amelia Rosselli and her translator and Roberta Antognini.

A wonderful evening of two communities blending with poet Rachel Karyo, Alessandra Arosio and the musicians Neil Welch, Brian Bermudez, Jenny Ziefel, Mary Riles, and Mark Hillard Wilson of Scrambler.

Just grateful to be in the room while this was happening!

Having a short vacation to try to boost my energy and morale, so no better place to start that then a stop at lovely . New things to read include recently translated Celan letters, another swoon, a couple Johannes Göransson titles and a UDP chap by Claudia La Rocco that looks like a perfect match to my current spirit. Also first time@coming to Folio just to read— a sweet quiet space.
