You can also have items shipped to either of those locations if you'd rather order online.

Sink Family Announces Plans to Seek New Ownership for WKYK and WTOE

After more than 60 years of serving Western North Carolina, the Sink family has made the difficult decision to seek new ownership for radio stations WKYK and WTOE.

After much prayer the decision comes with heavy hearts and is solely due to several years of ongoing health challenges. While it is not the path we had hoped to take, we believe now is the right time to ensure these stations remain strong, continue to grow, and keep serving the communities.

For more than six decades, our parents, J. Ardell Sink and Remelle Sink, built an extraordinary legacy of community service through WKYK and WTOE. They established these stations as trusted sources for local news, weather, entertainment and community information. We have been honored to continue that legacy and are deeply proud of the relationships built with our listeners, advertisers, employees, and the communities we serve.

Our greatest hope is to find new owners who share our passion for local radio and community service—people who love these mountains, love Yancey and Mitchell counties and understand
the important role local broadcasting plays in the lives of our neighbors. We believe these stations have a bright future with owners committed to carrying that mission forward.

As we begin this transition, our focus is on finding the right stewardship for these stations and preserving the tradition of excellence and local service that has defined them for generations.
