For the first time in several days, most of us will actually see the sun at some point today! It won't help temperatures all that much, though. Highs are expected to stay down around 10-15 degrees colder than normal. Brrr.

If you haven't busted out the winter clothing and flannel bedsheets yet, you may want to. Very cold "Arctic" air is forecast to move into the region late this week. Well below-normal temperatures are expected Friday through the weekend with overnight hard freeze (28 degrees or colder) conditions and very low wind chill values. We're still refining the details of this forecast, so stay tuned! ❄️🥶

Precipitation will begin after midnight across the mountains, possibly as a brief wintry mix. A quick transition to light snow at elevations above 3500 feet and cold rain below 3500 feet is expected. A light accumulation of snow is possible at high elevations by daybreak.

Monday through Saturday.

Light snow and ice accumulations cannot be ruled out, mainly across the mountains and along/north of the I-40 corridor and could cause hazardous conditions to develop on area roadways.
