A strong cold front has pushed through the area this morning and will filter in a very dry airmass behind it. Relative humidity values will dip to 25-35% this afternoon with wind gusts of 25-35 mph, leading to elevated fire weather conditions across the Southeast, including the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia.

Very windy conditions develop across the area today behind a departing cold front. This combined with a cold airmass moving in as well, will lead to wind chills in the single digits above and below zero across the North Carolina mountains and teens to lower 20s elsewhere.
