Fall colors are almost here šŸ‚ and you donā€™t have to drive to Duluth to see them.

400 homes are coming to the fields north of Hastings High School.

The Planning Commission said yes. Then the City Council said yes on Sept. 21.

A few things to know:

- Thereā€™s rock just 5 feet down, so there could be blasting.
- It will take about 10 years to build. Thatā€™s about 40 homes a year.
- The first homes go in at the south end, by Featherstone Road.

Zombie Paintball at Champion Valley puts you on a trailer with a paintball gun mounted in front of you. Your mission is to find the ingredients for the antidote before the zombies get to you. Itā€™s about a 30-minute hunt, and the zombies donā€™t shoot back.

After that thereā€™s bonfires, treats, a photo booth and more, plus a part after the trailer Iā€™m not allowed to talk about šŸ¤«

šŸŽØ Lakevilleā€™s new $21.6 million recycling center has a room where you take stuff home for free.

Itā€™s called the Reuse Zone: leftover paint, stain, cleaners and automotive products other people dropped off. The Eagan site doesnā€™t have one. Walls are up at 10125 217th Street W, and it opens spring 2027.

Team USA's Paralympic curling team picked Lakeville. A council member announced Monday that the national wheelchair curling team will train at Dakota Curling in downtown Lakeville a few times a year, and the goal is to bring an international competition here.

Lakeville could host a billion-dollar Worldā€™s Fair šŸŒŽšŸŒæ

The Lakeville City Council voted 5-0 Monday to acknowledge the city is being considered as host for Expo 2031. Thatā€™s a six-month Worldā€™s Fair built around plants and gardens, planned for Mayā€“October 2031 on the southwest side of I-35 and County Road 70. The vote doesnā€™t commit any city money, and nothing is approved yet.

Want a say? The first open house is Wednesday, Oct. 21, 4ā€“7 p.m. at Lakeville City Hall.
