Here in Big Sky Country, we are spoiled with wide open spaces and beautiful scenery you can enjoy on your way to work every morning. But you've felt the squeeze in your wallet for awhile now. A report came out on how much you actually need to earn to live comfortably in Montana these days, and it probably won't surprise you that six figures are involved. Montana's number jumped more than almost any other state in the country this year. Did your paycheck get that same bump? We could bet no. A new survey of more than 3,000 households found that 62% have cut back on meat or protein because of rising prices, and it's not just people buying cheaper cuts. Almost half say they've swapped beef for beans or lentils, and one budget friendly protein has quietly become the go to fallback in kitchens everywhere. Two thirds of respondents now say meat, eggs and dairy feel more like a luxury than an everyday grocery item. Have you had to rethink what protein makes it into your cart lately?
