Dream Big Montana Returns to Butte, 600 Youth Spots Available for Uptop Skills Camp

For two days every summer, Butte becomes the center of the Montana sports world.

Former Butte High standout, Montana Grizzly, NFL veteran and current San Francisco 49ers special teams coordinator C**t Anderson is bringing the Dream Big Montana Experience back to the Mining City on June 25-26, and once again hundreds of local kids will have the opportunity to learn from some of the biggest names in sports.

The centerpiece of the event is the Uptop Skills Camp at Naranche Stadium, where approximately 600 athletes from kindergarten through eighth grade will receive instruction from current and former professional athletes, college standouts and coaches who have reached the highest levels of their respective sports. The camp is completely free for participants thanks to community support, sponsorships and donations.

The Dream Big Foundation’s mission is simple: provide opportunities, experiences and resources that inspire young people to pursue their passions and dream beyond what they think is possible.

That mission has resonated throughout Montana.

What started as a way for Anderson to give back to his hometown has grown into one of the state’s premier youth events, attracting professional athletes, Olympians, coaches and entertainers to Butte each summer. The event not only gives kids the chance to sharpen their athletic skills, but also allows them to interact with people who once stood exactly where they are today. This year’s Dream Big Montana Experience will once again feature the popular Uptown festivities, family activities and community events that have become staples of the annual celebration. The Uptop Skills Camp remains the main attraction, with organizers making approximately 600 spots available for young athletes. Registration opened June 1 and historically fills quickly.

For Anderson, the event has always been about creating opportunities for the next generation.

Whether a child dreams of playing professional sports, becoming a coach, starting a business or pursuing a completely different path, the message remains the same: dream big and believe anything is possible.

Families interested in registering can visit the Dream Big Montana website for additional information and camp registration details.

For many Montana kids, it may be the most memorable two days of the summer.

For Butte, it’s another opportunity to showcase why the Mining City continues to produce some of Montana’s biggest success stories.
