SOLO Defense Training Group was started by Aaron Brumley in hopes of teaching gun owners and shooters the proper mindset and fundamentlas necessary to properly deploy a firearm in the event that one day YOU may be someones only line of defense. Along with handgun and carbine training, we are able to bring you life saving skills through our medical instructor, and unarmed self defense training thanks to our martial arts instructors that colaborate with us.

Obligation New Year's day post. Thanks to everyone who follows and supports. 2025 was a blessed year for me and my family despite the obvious challenges in the world. Looking forward to what 2026 brings.

HOODIES AND HANDS ARE FASTER THAN YOUR DRAW

A man in a hoodie can have a gun in his hand
and still be concealed.

That gives him a tactical advantage over:
* Concealed carriers
* Open carriers
* Even well-trained “good guys”

Why?

Because hands kill.

In real-world combative encounters, the person who controls:
👉 distance
👉 timing
👉 and hand visibility

is already ahead of the power curve.

Until you can see a person of interest’s hands, you are not safe.

This applies to:
* Law enforcement
* Private security professionals
* Armed citizens
* Moms & dads protecting their children

If someone is above baseline, presenting as unsafe, or behaving anomalously:
➡️ Create distance
➡️ Control angles
➡️ Demand hand visibility

Hope is not a strategy.
Awareness is.
