One of my goals lately has been putting more intention into what I wear, even for everyday things.

Bible study is just us girls hanging out in Skylar’s living room, studying Scripture, praying together, and catching up on life, so I didn’t want to be too dressed up. I wanted something comfortable that still felt like me.

Both the tee and the shorts are thrifted! The shirt is a vintage tee with the sweetest little floral embroidery, which I absolutely love, and it’s become a piece I regularly wear.

Building a wardrobe isn’t about having the most clothes, but about having pieces that fit your life and make you feel like yourself.

Do you have a favorite thrifted piece you wear on repeat?

Outfit Details:
Shirt - thrifted from Deseret Industries
Shorts - thrifted
Socks - ASICS
Shoes - Amazon
Necklaces - Amazon Fashion

I noticed something when I watched these clips side by side.

Yes, I went from 2 assisted pull-ups to 6 in just 5 weeks. 🎉

But what stood out even more was how much faster I completed them. The reps look smoother, stronger, and more controlled. That’s progress too, even if it isn’t as obvious as the number.

I’ve been training specifically for my first Spartan Race, and pull-ups have become a huge focus because grip and upper body strength can make a big difference on the obstacles.

Here’s what’s been helping me:

💪 Negative pull-ups
💪 Band-assisted pull-ups (I prefer these over the assisted pull-up machine because your body has to stabilize itself instead of following a fixed path, which will get you to an actual pull up faster.)
💪 Lat pulldowns
💪 Reverse-grip pulldowns
💪 A variety of row variations
💪 Bicep curls

I train upper body every Wednesday and most Fridays, and I’ve also made protein a priority. I aim for at least 100g a day, but usually try to hit 130-150g.

If you’re training for a Spartan Race too, I hope this helps! And if you’re signing up for one, you can use my code “KateFahey” to save on your registration.

If you’re working toward your first pull-up, drop your questions below. I’d love to cheer you on. 🤍

I used to have a personal style blog where I posted almost every day. Somewhere along the way, I stopped putting much effort into getting dressed because I was worried about being “overdressed.”

So I’m changing that.

This weekend I asked Ryan to stop so we could take outfit photos, and it reminded me how much I used to love creating fashion content. I may not have time to blog every day anymore, but I’m excited to make space for it again.

This outfit is almost entirely thrifted, and it feels like the start of finding my way back to my personal style.

I shared the full story, outfit details, and a little trip down memory lane over on my Substack. The link is in my bio. 🤍

This is why I always try everything on at the thrift store. 👏

You never know if something has been shrunk, how a brand’s sizing runs, or if it’s even tagged correctly.

I found this dress on the go-back rack at Deseret Industries. The DI tag said it was a children’s dress, but the manufacturer’s tag said “1XL,” which isn’t how kids’ clothes are sized. So I figured why not?

Turns out it fit like an absolute dream. 🤍

It’s basically the ‘90s dress of my dreams. I almost bought a nearly identical one from a boutique in Scottsdale last summer, but I couldn’t justify spending almost $100.

This one was just $5.

And honestly, it’s probably higher quality anyway.

That’s exactly why I never judge a thrift find by the tag. Try it on. You might be leaving your dream piece behind.

Literally screaming and dancing this morning!! 💃

After a great nights sleep I managed to pull out an assisted pull up PR by TWO!!! We’re not talking about the form on the last one. I got up to the bar and that’s ALL THAT MATTERS!!!

I started this journey back in 2020 during one of the darkest times of my life. And after a few years off here I am back at it happily married, 20lbs lighter, with an A1C of 6.8 instead of 8+ thanks to the incredible women at Whole-Person Care Rooted in Science & Soul.

I’m so incredibly impressed and proud of the progress I’ve made in the last five weeks since starting this journey again. I went from 2 assisted pull ups to 6 with the same bands. I can’t wait to see where I am five weeks from now.

And as a girlie who hates the doctors office and spent years avoiding it this is your sign to find a doctor you like and are comfortable with and start investing in your health! I can’t believe I found Ritual because of TikTok but I thank God every day that I did! Looking back, I wish I hadn’t spent so many years spinning my wheels in the gym because I was determined to manage my diabetes “naturally” and avoided medication. Getting the right medical care didn’t replace my hard work, it finally allowed my hard work to pay off. 🤍

What’s a health or fitness win you’re celebrating right now? Big or small, I want to hear it in the comments so we can celebrate together. 👇

By their own words, some dogs are living 21–23 hours a day in crates… meanwhile mine are out here seeing the world with me.

And since people want to talk, let’s talk facts.

According to publicly reported information, Adriana O’Hara (30) and Timothy Miller (33) in Bradenton, Florida were arrested in October 2025 and each charged with five counts of felony aggravated animal cruelty. Authorities reportedly found five dogs severely malnourished, living in filthy crates without proper food or water. Some were said to be emaciated and suffering from long-term neglect and pressure sores. That criminal case is still pending.

Separately, in a civil case regarding the dogs, a court found them unfit to care for or own dogs without first petitioning the court. They are appealing that decision, but as of now there has been no ruling on the appeal.

So yeah… I’m going to keep choosing a life where my dogs are loved, exercised, and actually live.

Disrespectfully, I’m not taking advice from people who think survival is the same thing as care.

All information referenced is based on publicly available records and reporting. Allegations have not yet been fully adjudicated and are my opinion based on those records.

Not every good thrift find comes home with me. 🤎

I actually loved everything in this video, but I’ve gotten a lot pickier about what I buy.

If it stayed at the store, it was usually for one of these reasons:
🤎 The fit wasn’t quite right.
🤎 It wasn’t made from natural fibers (or at least a natural fiber blend).
🤎 The color didn’t work with my soft autumn palette.
🤎 I didn’t know where I’d put it in our small apartment
A few years ago I probably would’ve bought it anyway because it was cute or a good deal. Now I’d rather leave with fewer pieces that I know I’ll actually reach for than a closet full of “almost.”

Thrifting has become so much more fun since I started shopping with a plan instead of just shopping for the thrill of finding something. I already have a list of what I’m looking for before I ever walk into the store, which makes it so much easier to avoid impulse buys and build a wardrobe I actually love.

If you’d like to see how I create my thrift shopping plan before I ever step foot in the store, let me know in the comments and I’ll make a video about it!

Which piece would you have taken home? 👇

Almost everything in this outfit is thrifted. 🤎

👕 Shirt: Thrifted Goodwill Central & Northern AZ
👖 Pants: Thrifted Idaho Youth Ranch
👜 Purse: Thrifted Deseret Industries
👡 Sandals: Walmart Style

One of my goals before we have a baby is to build a wardrobe where getting dressed feels effortless, but I still look put together.

I’ve been learning more about color analysis, and it turns out I’m a Soft Autumn. These pants technically aren’t in my color palette, but I love them, so I’m wearing them anyway.

I’m all for using color seasons as a tool, not a rule. If something makes you feel good, wear it.

do you believe in finding your season and dressing for it? I didn’t for the longest time! But it turns out I just didn’t know what my season actually was. 😂 I’ve always heard people say that I have cool toes, but it turns out that as a soft autumn I actually have warm undertones!

What’s your season? Tell me in the comments! ⬇️

If you wear a CGM, you already know… keeping it on shouldn’t be this hard. 😅

These Skin Grip®️ patches have been a game changer for me (even though that term is way over used these days - these patches live up to it!) They survive workouts, showers, sweat, and everyday life, which means I spend less time worrying about my sensor and more time focusing on keeping my blood sugar in range.

If you’ve been looking for a CGM patch that actually stays put, this is the one I keep coming back to. 🙌

Do you wear a CGM? What’s your favorite overpatch?

This low-carb coleslaw deserves a spot at every summer cookout. 🥗☀️

It’s creamy, crunchy, a little sweet, and one of those recipes that disappears before the burgers are gone.

If you’re watching your carb intake, managing your blood sugar, or just looking for a lighter side dish that doesn’t taste like “diet food,” this one is for you. And if you’re keto, simply leave out the dried cranberries.

Recipe:

Dressing
• ¼ cup nonfat Greek yogurt
• ¼ cup monk fruit sweetener
• 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
• 2 tbsp unsweetened almond milk
• 1 tsp yellow mustard
• 2 tsp poppy seeds
• Dash of salt

Whisk together.

Salad
• 1½ cups shredded carrots
• 1 bag Trader Joe’s Cruciferous Crunch
• ½ cup dried cranberries (omit for keto)

Toss everything together until well coated. For the best flavor, refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Save this recipe for your next BBQ, potluck, or meal prep. It’s proof that you don’t have to give up your favorite summer sides to eat in a way that supports your health.
