My full time job working // it’s been such a cool experience going from weddings to being in the OR. Learning ins and outs with my editing, marketing, and directing.

It’s a challenge finding balance in full time work, creative work, and family life, but I’ll say striving for that balance has helped me discover a lot about myself and my priorities.

If you’re trying to grow creatively while working full time, here’s my unsolicited advice: schedule your creative time like an appointment and treat it the same way you would any other commitment.

Over the last few years, I’ve learned a lot about myself. I love connecting with people and I love documenting. I love being a husband and father. I love developing myself and figuring out ways to express myself and my creativity.

I intake so much from other people, that a recurring thought I have is “that I don’t really have much to give or offer.” And I’m realizing that that thought is holding me back from my full potential. I don’t want to live my life knowing that I genuinely can do more, but the fear of going after it is the only thing that is stopping me.

So this is a step forward in embracing myself, my talents, my skills, and sharing my process along the way. Sharing the struggles of being a new husband and father. Sharing the skills I’ve developed over the years as a videographer and editor. Showing how I strive to find balance with a full time job and my own personal creativity.

I’m sharing this to break my own cycle of talking about things and not taking action, and sharing the vision board I put together for my Home Screen. If you’re a long time follower, thank you for the continued support on my journey. If you’re new, welcome! If you’ve made it this far, drop a comment and I’ll dm you a surprise 🫶🏽

5 years

I simply cannot believe I’ve been at this for 5 years. I started filming having no idea where it would lead me. In 2019 I figured I’d take a shot at videography and truly jumped head first into it. I dropped out of college, found to be a mentor, and never really looked back.

Those first two years were filled with so much learning and got to a point where I felt so confident in my work. However, when I went through my divorce in 2022, it really threw me for a loop. Filming weddings became so difficult. I was surrounded by people who were SO in love, after having a shattered heart. That was hard.

Fast forward to 2023, meeting and starting our life together completely changed the trajectory of my life. Not too long after making things official, we unexpectedly found out we were pregnant and again, lives flipped upside down.

2024 has welcomed our perfect daughter, Lucy, and has joined our family together in marriage. I’ve taken a full time job and still have the opportunity to film weddings. I want to get more into “vlogging”, sharing what I do day to day, what it’s like being a dad, husband, working on my fitness, and skills behind the camera and computer. Thank you to everyone who has supported me through this journey. It really has been remarkable the lifelong friends I’ve made because of a camera. Here’s to another year 🤟🏽
