Long post but it sure is an exciting time around here.

Summer 2025. It’s one we will reflect on as a reset. From a large majority of our recips having neighbors bull sired calves to drought to flood and back to drought. High cattle prices, family trips, and refinding ourselves as a program and people. It’s been one to remember and one I have loved with our people. Lots of big changes coming and it’s as exciting as it’s been around here for a while now.

Stella was the most excited about fishing with mom and dad on our annual beach trip to getting our girl Shea back from KMR performance horses!

-We have a new herd sire rolling out this fall raised by the Sweppy family in Illinois. Sid is a PA free redemption son that is backed by old school cool cow genetics. He is moderate, dense, extremely fertile, and dog gentle. Bovine elite has semen available to ship on hand at $35/unit with no minimum and No signing fees! Picture coming this fall!

-We are redoing our breeding pens so we can better serve our AI and ET customers

-Our commercial bull market and program has exploded with happy bull buyers which we are so thankful for.

-New and returning Show heifer customers have found success with some exciting wins this summer as the spring 2024 heifers are returning home from getting bred and the fall 2024 heifers are finding their grove!

Due to fewer purebred heifer calf numbers and to accommodate growth and changes around here, we have decided for the first time in almost a decade to OFFER OUR ENTIRE SPRING HEIFER CALF CROP PRIVATE TREATY this fall 2025. I want to be clear the plans are to have a 2026 sale with SCO and Clint Petzold since they have been our go to guys and are the best at what they do!

We will nose tab the older calves next week and they will be ready to go early September. The younger calves will be weaned first part of October. We will also have some consignments from our customers and friends so watch for updates or come see them in person!

Congratulations to Addison Maness. She is 2 for 2 on breed champs this month with her heifer Malibu! 2 weeks ago at the Lonestar Classic Series and this weekend at the PYLA show in Brenham. This is Addison’s very first show calf and we are extremely lucky and excited to have her represent our program as shes doing an incredible job. Malibu is a Super Puncher x sugar that was sold privately this spring at the ranch.

Tag 1. Super puncher x sugar

Tag 1 has been a favorite here since she hit the ground. It’s been a while since we’ve had a female this dense and this powerful that moved as cat like as this female does.

She is out of the hottest Q numbered Red Factor influenced females in the breed, OCR Ms Xplorer E164. Most recently known as the dam of Big game Hunter. “Sugar” was the high selling live lot in our 2017 online sale purchased by Gateway Genetics in Nebraska. She was the champion charolais female at the 2018 Nebraska state fair, reserve Charolais at the 2018 American Royal, and was undefeated in the 2018 jackpot season in Nebraska.

This heifers sire, Super Puncher, the 55th National Champion Charolais Bull in 2023 at Louisville. He was dominant through his show career and moderated sugar while keeping the density and design of her incredible built donor dam.

Tag 1 is gentle, dense, and flawless in her design with a hair coat of a polar bear before we sheared her. Shes an incredible PA free unit that will make her mark in this industry. Could you imagine the profit generating ability of her!

Let me tell you about Stella’s girl, a voodoo woman named Phyllis!

We have been blessed to have Samantha Mahlmann as a customer and a charolais kid the past two years. She first came to us as a hooftrimming and clipping customer and decided to “give the white cows a try”. Coming from the braunveih world it was quite the change with a lot of learning curves and even some good butt chewings. But I will say it was worth every minute and second investing into this kid and family. Sam’s mom called and said they wanted a special one for her senior year and to be her scramble project that she had earned a certificate in Dairy judging. We searched high and low calling friends north of the red river trying to find one for her. Little did we know the one she needed was sitting in our pasture. One day after clipping for a jackpot she reluctantly asked if we had anything in the pasture we would sell her knowing we sell our spring borns in our October sale. It just so happened we had 1 January heifer born in 2024 and that heifer was Stella’s absolute best friend. So after some convincing and a promise from Sam to Stella that “Phyllis” would have a loving home we agreed to sell her Phyllis. I’m sure glad we did! Phyllis had an incredible fall and a great spring! Highlighting their impressive resume would be that Phyllis got to be the calf to help Sam achieve the highest honor of the scramble show. Supreme overall Scrambler of the Houston Livestock and rodeo. This title is the culmination of their show success, essay, monthly sponsor communication, and stall display presentation on top of how they did at the show. We could not be anymore proud of or thankful for our girls!

What a big week for the Evers family! Back to back trips to the backdrop with a banner at the spring majors! Congratulations and thank you for trusting us to guide your family over the past 2 show seasons! “Libby” won her class at San Antonio last year and returned this year as a bred winning the March bred class, champion senior heifer, and being named the Reserve Champion Charolais female at the San Antonio Livestock Expo! Libby was purchased by Carson as lot 8 in our 2023 fall online sale.

Fall borns are weaned and will be available private treaty starting March 1. We will start halter breaking them after the Houston open show.

Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo 2025

The 56th National Charolais show and it was one to remember and such a special one to us. The first national show I attended was in Fort Worth. As a green kid and newly into the breed I could only imagine a day like we would have this year for our program and our friends! I was told by many old timers when I started that the true level of acceptance and achievement in a breed is not measured by the banners you hang on the wall but more so by the banners your cows would generate in the generations to come for your customers. I never grasped and understood that statement at the level that it did this year in Fort Worth! Thank you for the trust and dedication from our family, friends, and customers!

Our achievements were highlighted by an incredible display of years of dedication to form and function in our cow herd.
