BLOOD DRIVE TO BE HELD IN CALHOUN THIS MONDAY: American Red Cross urges donors to make an appointment to give blood now to keep the blood supply as strong as possible in the final days of the year and into 2026. Types O, A negative and B negative blood donors are especially needed now.

An opportunity to give blood will be held this Monday, Dec. 29th, from 1 p.m. - 6 p.m. at First United Methodist Church Calhoun, 205 East Line Street.

Give hope during the holidays and schedule a blood donation appointment by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). President Donald Trump said the U.S. launched airstrikes in northwest Nigeria on Christmas night targeting ISIS militants he accused of killing Christians, calling the operation decisive and warning further attacks would follow if the violence continues.

"Tonight, at my direction as Commander in Chief, the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS Terrorist Scum in Northwest Nigeria, who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians, at levels not seen for many years, and even Centuries!"
