I first met Tim Flagler jumping from empty keg to empty keg while trying not to spill our beers in the basement of a frat house at St. Lawrence college in upstate NY in 1979.

We had a lot of good clean fun through our college years then kind of lost touch.

Fast forward ten or twelve years and I bump into him tying flies at the NJ Fly Fishing show where Joanne and I were exhibiting.

“Hey Flags, I didn’t know you were in the industry.” I said.

“Timmy, I didn’t know you were either.” He said.

The rest, is not history. It’s a joyous work in progress.

Tim Flagler has been coming around with groups for many years. As most of you know he’s one of the foremost noted, innovative and talented fly tiers in the Industry. He’s also all about native species and big fish. In the lower Columbia there’s a bounty on pike minnow. But here in the Kootenai we love these guys.
