I never saw it coming, but I wasn't going to fall apart. I took a deep breath and made myself calm down. I quickly took screenshots of every email. I backed up the files and sent them to a private email I used only for emergencies.

But the big stuff, that was always in my name, under my control. I didn't tell him every detail, not because I didn't trust him then, but because I had learned early in life to always protect what I built.
After I saw his emails and learned what he was planning, I didn't panic. I went quiet. I smiled like nothing had changed. And slowly, carefully, I started pulling things apart.
