Adventures of Ruby Tuesday

Over the past few years of living on the road, I’ve slept in more parking lots, dirt pull-offs, rest areas, and quiet corners of towns than I can count.

And if you live this life, you know the real challenge isn’t just finding a place to sleep.

It’s figuring things out that most people never think about:

• Where can you park without getting “the knock”?
• Where do you charge your power station when you’re running low?
• Which towns are welcoming - and which ones clearly aren’t?
• Where can you shower, dump trash, or just exist without being moved along?

Most of the answers are scattered across Facebook posts, old forum threads, and word-of-mouth between travelers.

After running into the same problems again and again, I decided to start building something to help bring that knowledge together in one place - and to let other road travelers share what they know too.

I’ve been quietly working on it for a while now.

It launches tomorrow.

Tomorrow I’m traveling to the place where I spread my mom’s ashes a year ago. I’m planning to record the three hour journey to northern Arizona to honor the first anniversary of her passing. I’ll post the video this weekend.

Okay, I have to admit I'm a flake. After the big storm, Hurricane Priscilla, hit the area I was staying in and I had to head for somewhere out of the storms path, I wrote a song about it. My passion for songwriting, which I'd given up years ago to pursue other things, was back with a vengeance.
I will continue having adventures, but I will no longer take the time to create videos about them, at least not right now. I want to concentrate on my music.
I have another page, Yolanda Youngblood that I have had for almost as long as I've been on Facebook. I haven't done a lot with it in recent years because I was concentrating on doing things like the videos I have produced for this group.
