Good morning everyone.

I’ve seen all the comments and messages from people wanting to purchase the metal prints, and first off, thank you. Seriously. I was planning to work on getting those added to the website first thing this morning.

But my baby boy Baker is sick.

He hasn’t been doing well since yesterday afternoon. He has a bad habit of eating bugs that mess his stomach up, and apparently he has learned absolutely nothing from previous poor life choices. This one seems to be the worst one yet, so I’ll be taking him to the vet first thing this morning.

I apologize for any delayed responses today. Baker comes first, then I’ll get back to messages and work on getting the metal prints uploaded to the website so anyone who wants one can order.

Thank y’all for being patient, for the support, and for loving this little backroad circus, including the tiny hound dog who apparently thinks bugs are snacks from the devil.

Every bird, deer, bison, longhorn, and suspicious-looking squirrel in Oklahoma has officially been warned.

I picked up the Canon RF 100-500mm and 1.4x extender from Bedford Camera & Video in Oklahoma City, and I’m excited to start adding more wildlife shots alongside the landscapes, sunsets, storms, backroads, and all the other Oklahoma chaos I usually chase.

I’ve always loved capturing the big scenes, but there’s something special about the smaller moments too. The birds on a fence post. The deer slipping through the trees. The buffalo standing there like it pays property taxes.

Also, shoutout to Bedford’s in OKC. They’ve always been top notch to deal with, and I appreciate having a place like that here in Oklahoma.

Now I just need the wildlife to cooperate, which historically means they’ll show up the exact moment my camera is in the truck.

Come ride along.

It’s not just a brand, it’s a way of life.

This is what high fashion looks like when you’re trying to protect trees from cattle.

A few years ago, a storm blew down a tree, so in October of 2024 we planted four bald cypress trees to replace them. We had a hot fence around the whole group for a while, but recently took it down.

Naturally, the cows saw that as a personal invitation to reach through each little tree fence and eat the grass like tiny pasture criminals. So now we’re adding more posts to keep them from sticking their heads in there and turning our trees into a salad bar.

Also, let’s take a moment to appreciate the outfit.

Muck boots. Camo shorts. Pocket hanging out like a white flag of surrender. Shirt soaked in “I didn’t plan to be seen by the public today.”

This is farm fashion. This is tree defense. This is what happens when chores don’t care if you look like a confused swamp goblin.

Happy whatever this is.

It’s not just a brand, it’s a way of life.

I was pulling weeds in the garden last night like a responsible adult, which already felt suspicious.

Then I looked east and saw these anti-crepuscular rays stretching across the sky. And just like that, the weeds became tomorrow’s problem.

I love moments like this because they remind me how much is happening around us when we actually stop and look. The sunset was behind me doing its thing, but the real show was quietly happening in the opposite direction.

That feels like life sometimes.

We get so focused on what we think we’re supposed to be watching that we almost miss the good stuff happening behind us.

Also, I did not finish pulling weeds.

The sky started it.

Come ride along.

It’s not just a brand, it’s a way of life.

This one is called Sun Workers. A reminder that big things are built one small step at a time. Kind of like Oklahoma Backroad Explorer.
