Meet Maggie! 🐾
Our new 5-month-old pup has officially joined the family. She’s from the Trout & Bro litter at Flyaway Farm - flatcoatconservation.org/troutxbro and we’re smitten. (Scroll down on that page to read a little about the parents!)

Huge thanks to Xan for the love, care, and thoughtfulness she pours into raising such wonderful dogs. 🌟 And to Gina for the gentle (and very effective) nudge back toward our longtime plan of having two dogs.

Maggie is already bonding with Chester, though both are completely wiped out. Maggie’s recovering from a long Sunday adventure that took her (and us) from the beautiful north of Washington State, through Seattle Airport, to Burbank, and finally home to Camarillo.
Chester’s recovering from... well, living with a 5-month-old puppy.

Her full name? Maggie McFly-Away Farm.
Any guesses why? 😉

We were so lucky, the fire went around the back of us but it has devastated so many homes in our city. Watching the helicopter crews in action was awe inspiring. Those crews are incredibly skilled... Thank you to all the firefighters.

And thanks for the informative and useful aerial coverage that let us see what was happening in real time. Local media really shines at times like this.

35 years ago to the day I started at Radio Wyvern in Worcester, with Paul Snow Linscott. And we went straight into a day of prep for the 3 day outside broadcast from The Malvern Show... Quite the introduction to the world of radio.
The Wyvern OB unit was a modified little touring caravan... I loved it...

Happy Holidays !
From Friday December 15th we'll be enjoying our holiday (on the sofa, eating chocolate) and, even though the studio is only three feet away, we won't be back in action until we have completed our long awaited, much anticipated, trip to the fridge on Monday January 8th 2024.

After a great week with my brother visiting from the UK, Ventura didn't disappoint with his final sunset of the trip.
Today, he flies back to London. Shifting from where it's 75f to London at 30f.

UK commercial radio celebrates 50 years today. I was lucky enough to get started in 1989 at Radio Wyvern as an engineer, working in dark rooms and out on events. I never wanted to be on air presenting, but found a love of editing and mixing in addition to all I learnt about engineering. I was able to move into production through MFM (events producer) and to in Birmingham as Breakfast show producer with and Emma. I stayed with Heart as we went to #1 and became the huge brand it is now. I won some awards and got some amazing friends. Now, I am "radio adjacent" and I miss the daily fun, excitement and challenges of a live broadcast environment. I do not miss getting up at 3.30am to produce a morning show though.
