You made some of my favorite Pixies, Nirvana and Superchunk jams, among others!

Steve Albini, the noise rock pioneer with Big Black and Shellac who also engineered alternative rock classics, has died at the age of 61.

Bummer…R.I.P., Gary Young. I actually last caught Pavement while out here in San Fran in 1999…Gary was a very interesting dude who was foundational to the early work of one of the bands that most influenced me from my high school days. Stray Slack forever!!!

Remains a great inspiration for my Ocean Size enterprises, in the indie, little-engine-that-could studio and label efforts; he changed the world with those early works he captured…masterpieces!

Young played with Pavement from the band’s early days through their 1992 album Watery, Domestic
