We regret to inform you that the Taking In: Opening Reception has been postponed. Due to the recent fire in University Hall, the first floor where the VanDernoot Gallery is located is closed until further notice.

We are thankful to say that fortunately, none of the art in the gallery was harmed and there are no artwork casualties.

Please keep an eye out for an email in the next few days including our new reception date.

We also had Scott Alario as our third juror, who practice using photography and collaborates with his wife Marguerite Keyes, and children Elska and Marco Moon. The family works together to stage, perform, and edit the images. We'd like to thank all the jurors who came out and helped with the jury process. It was definitely a day to remember

Caleb Cole's work is in the permanent collections of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Newport Art Museum, Brown University Art Museum and Leslie Lohman Museum of Gay and Le***an Art. He openly explores the intricacies of gender identities and sexuality through his work. We were so lucky and happy to have him!

Anyone curious who our Jurors were and what their work is about?
Check out Keitaro Yoshioka!
Yoshioka has a variety of different work he has done throughout his life. He was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. As said in his bio, he came to Boston in 1982 and attended the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and majored in photography. While being in the commercial and fine art photography world, Yoshioka is also a faculty member of the photography department at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design,
Boston Architectural College, and New England School of Photography. It was truly an honor and privilege to have him as one of our jurors.
