"Let it go" might be the most well-meaning but difficult piece of advice we offer people who are living with something painful or difficult.
People carrying something heavy aren't looking for a way to put it down as much as they're looking for a way to carry it without it crushing them.
Holding something lightly is choosing to stay present with the reality of what is without letting the weight of it define every moment. It's loosening the grip just enough to breathe and allow a good day to exist alongside the hurt and hardship without feeling guilty.
Holding things lightly lets us stop fighting the way things are and start learning how to live within them.
What are you holding tightly right now that might feel better held a little more lightly? 🕊️
