⚠️ WIND ADVISORY ⚠️
…WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM EDT/MIDNIGHT CDT TO 9 AM EDT/8 AM CDT SUNDAY...

WHAT... South winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected. Isolated gusts of 45 to 50 mph are possible.

WHERE... All of southern Indiana and central Kentucky.

WHEN... From 1 AM EDT/Midnight CDT to 11 AM EDT/10 AM CDT Sunday.

IMPACTS... Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS... The strongest winds will likely occur just ahead of a cold front that will pass through the region early Sunday morning. Behind the front on Sunday morning, there will be a period of lighter winds. However, westerly winds will increase by late Sunday morning and into Sunday afternoon with gusts of 25 to 35 mph.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Secure outdoor objects.

Strong wind gusts will be possible late tonight along the leading edge of showers and storms. Additional gusty winds are expected during the day on Sunday. A Wind Advisory is in effect for all of central Kentucky and southern Indiana from 1-9 AM EDT Sunday.

▪️Weekend Forecast▪️

A strong cold front will move through the region Saturday night into Sunday, bringing a chance for strong to severe storms, especially across west Kentucky. The potential for strong storms becomes much more uncertain the farther east you go across central Kentucky and southern Indiana, as fuel for storms will be limited. Strong straight-line winds and a spin-up tornado are the main severe threats if strong storms develop. Gusty winds are expected outside of storms as well Saturday afternoon and again on Sunday.

Cooler temperatures will follow behind the cold front, with highs falling into the 60s on Sunday.
