It’s not every day you get to work directly with your daughter! Last week we went to SUNY Oneonta with Erdman Anthony to work on a project showcasing some of the work they’ve done!

🚗Massive shoutout to Oneonta Ford LLC!🚗

On our way to SUNY Oneonta for a video shoot, 2 hrs into our drive, our Ford Transit hit limp mode at 70 mph on the Thruway—talk about a heart-stopper!😱 Zero throttle and barely enough steering to get to the shoulder, but we got it going again and limped it to Oneonta. The next day, we unloaded our gear at the college, and while the crew kicked off the shoot, Dave dropped the van at Oneonta Ford. These folks are absolute pros!🙌 They got us in fast, pinpointed the issue (a faulty throttle control module), and had it fixed in just two hours! 🚀 Thanks to their stellar service and lightning-fast turnaround, we were back on track in no time. Oneonta Ford, you rock!💪

Forty years ago, Dave LaBarge took a leap of faith. After 18 years at WROC TV 8, he knew it was time for something more...something of his own. So, with a vision, a camera, and a relentless drive, he built a video production company in the heart of the Finger Lakes.

Four decades later, that passion still fuels us. We’ve grown, evolved, and pushed the boundaries of storytelling, but one thing has never changed—our commitment to capturing stories that matter.

We wouldn’t be here without the trust of our clients, the dedication of our team, and the unwavering support of our community. For every story we’ve told and every one yet to come—thank you.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our founder, Dave LaBarge Sr. Dave was born in Tupper Lake, NY in 1940. He joined the Navy in 1958 and became a radio operator on a Neptune P2V surveillance plane during the cold war. Their mission was to search for Russian subs in the North Atlantic. After his military service, Dave joined WOKR Channel 13 and 3 years later moved to WROC Channel 8 in Rochester, NY. He worked as a camera operator and technical director. This is where he found his love for production. After 18 years in the television industry he took a chance and started Video Enterprises, offering wedding video services to the Finger Lakes. He was one of the first wedding videographers in the area but his love of professional production was always tugging at him. In 1987 he sold the family RV and used that money to upgrade his equipment, which allowed him to start producing professional videos for companies in the surrounding area. His son Dave joined the company in 1989 after graduating from Full Sail University, a video production institute in Orlando, Florida and in 1996 his son Jason joined after graduating from SUNY Oswego with his Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. In 2000 Dave Sr. retired to Florida with his wife, Betty.

Now in our 39th year, after thousands of commercial productions, faith based documentaries that span the globe and websites that help local companies grow, we at LaBarge Media are grateful because a young man from Tupper Lake in the North country took a leap of faith to step out on his own.
