“I did it!" — This is my journey. 🇨🇦✨
Looking back at where this all started, it feels completely surreal. When my first student visa application was refused, my world felt incredibly heavy. I didn’t understand it then, but now I see the beautiful picture God was painting. He refused that first application because He wanted me to see my mother one last time before she passed away, and the same was true for my husband’s father. God allowed us to be there, to see them, and to hold them close before He called them home. He truly had a better, more compassionate plan for us all along.
When we applied the second time, the door finally opened. Arriving in Canada was a victory, but the real work was just beginning. This journey was never easy. It tested me in ways I never expected, but through the hardships, so many profound realizations about life came through. I learned the true meaning of resilience, the power of family, and just how much I am capable of overcoming.
Unless you’ve lived it, it is hard to describe the absolute juggling act of being an international student:
The Balancing Act: Trying to be a present mom, a supportive wife, a dedicated student, and a hard worker all at once.
The Financial Grind: Facing the high cost of living and stretching every dollar to make sure tuition fees were met.
The Exhaustion: Turning "no class" days into full workdays just to bring in extra income, only to come home and stay up until the late hours of the night finishing assignments.
There were moments of pure exhaustion, moments where the hill felt too steep to climb. But every late-night study session, every sacrifice, and every tear was teaching me something valuable. It was incredibly hard, but it was equally fulfilling.
Today, I can finally look back at all the struggles and say: I DID IT! 🎓🎉
Now that graduation is behind me, a new chapter begins. I don't know exactly what the future holds, but I know who holds my future. A strong faith is more than enough to hold onto, giving me the courage to stand firm and embrace whatever beautiful things are coming next.
I am so deeply grateful for the unwavering love of my family, and above all, thank God for His perfect timing and for giving me the strength to push through when the road got tough. The Canadian dream didn't come easy, but the lessons, the realizations, and the deep faith I gained along the way are worth every bit of it. 🙌🙏
