Here is what the Lewistown Post Office says is properly handled mail. They also are blaming the seller and me for them intentionally damaging this piece of mail.

The item inside has a hard plastic sleeve the paper was sent in. The bend was done there at the Lewistown Post Office during mail sorting (aka casing as it's called by the post office) and then rubber banded in a V shaped manner when delivered to a mail box that is oversized to the point a boot box can lay flat in.
With severe storms finally passing through Illinois our volunteers and guests enjoyed clear skies and mild temps as we opened week number four on Thursday night. Kids of all ages took to various modes of transportation in order to take in the beautiful lights and no matter their age, we certainly loved the smiles.

Hello friends, while making plans for the coming weekend please include an enjoyable drive through the ever-popular Light up the Park in Chatham. Our set hours of operations are 6 to 9, Thursday to Sunday through the 26th of December. As we enter our fourth weekend we remind folks that we are a collection spot for Toy's for Tot's, Titan Fuel and for the Ball Chatham Food Pantry. Feel free to drop unwrapped gifts along with canned or boxed goods into Santa's Sleigh near the end of the drive. We encourage children to drop their Christmas wish list with Santa or simply place your note in the giant mailbox as you exit the park.

Event: Light up the Park
Host: Chatham Friends of the Parks
Cost: Suggested donation is $5
Location: 698 S. Park Ave. Chatham, IL. 62629
Questions: Please message Chatham Friends of the Parks via Facebook.

Description: Our ever colorful, mile-long experience, winds through the Community Park in Chatham where visitors are majestically treated to a myriad of magical displays that are highlighted with over 300,000 heart-warming lights, where awed visitors enjoy dozens of illuminated Christmas trees, row after row of lighted archways, along with our ever popular 'Chunnel" that is a drive through feature adorned with thousands of synchronized twinkling lights. At the end of the drive, kids catch a glimpse of Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Rocky is our dog of the week

Rocky is a highly active fellow full of energy! He would do well in an active home where he will get plenty of exercise on a regular basis. He loves people! We would recommend he be supervised since he can get a little hyper and likes to jump if you have small children. He gets along great with other dogs but can get a little rough during play. We'd recommend some basic obedience and leash training.

Adoption Fee: $150

We require a vet reference; and Landlord approval if you rent.
Please contact one of the volunteers at the shelter or one of the Dog Room coordinators if you’re interested in adopting this sweet dog. You can reach one of the coordinators at [email protected]. Or give us a call at the shelter.

Apply today:
https://www.humanesocietyfc.org/adoption-application/

Approval is based on Landlord approval, veterinary check and meeting the animal; you must meet or make arrangement to meet the animal within 48 hours of applying.
And in a flash, Light up the Park that runs Thursday to Sunday during the hours of 6 to 9 through December 26th, enters our third week of placing smiles on faces of the young of heart. Our ever colorful, mile-long experience, winds through the Community Park in Chatham where visitors are majestically treated to a myriad of magical displays that are highlighted with over 300,000 heart-warming lights, where visitors enjoy dozens of illuminated Christmas trees, row after row of lighted archways, along with our ever popular 'Chunnel" that is a drive through feature adorned with thousands of synchronized twinkling lights. At the end of the drive, kids catch a glimpse of Santa and Mrs. Claus so they can safely pass off a Christmas wish list and/or drop an unwrapped gift into Santa's sleigh for our friends at Toy's for Tot's. Those able to do so are also welcome to drop canned and boxed goods for volunteers at the Ball Chatham Food Pantry and Titan Fuel.

The GPS address, for travelers from afar, is 698 S. Park Ave. Chatham, IL. 62629. As this is a fundraiser we do suggest a $5 per carload donation as all contributions stay here in Chatham to help maintain our parks and green spaces.

Thank you for your continued support!
