Congrats to on an incredible release day for their new album. Almost 3 months of intense dedication went into this. I watched these girls spend countless hours writing, rewriting, rehearsing, perfecting. The conversations we had while making this still challenge me creatively to this day. The heart and the heat behind this record is something I’ll always be proud of. I hope the release show this weekend is so packed it becomes a problem. Skip the Grand Canyon this summer and witness this instead.

ROCK CANDY MUSICIAN MEETUP

In the aftermath of the unprecedented damage to the WNC area, the need for community among artists and creatives has never been greater. A strong and healthy sense of community is becoming undeniably essential to the physical and mental health of our local artists pursuing a career in music.

The goal of this meetup is simply to create a space and time for musicians of all skills and career trajectories to enjoy and learn from each other. Many of the needs of our musical community have shifted since Helene, and we hope to assess the state of our local artists, what their needs are and how we can help. This gathering will ideally be a great place to find a new songwriting partner, lock in a drummer for your next few gigs, nerd out on modular synths, swap gig stories or talk shop. If you are actively playing a role in the musical culture that makes WNC so special, we want you here. It’s also a chance to get some professional feedback from producers on your demos or worktapes.

The present cultural and technological shifts in the music industry are difficult to navigate. While the barriers of entry into making music are incredibly accommodating, pursuing a career in making music can feel more convoluted than ever. Everyone benefits from the demystification of the production process, the clarification of different roles within the industry, and candid honest feedback on their work. If you’re an artist, band member, engineer or songwriter please consider yourself welcome and wanted at this gathering. We can’t wait to meet all of you!
