A fun fact about Joan Jett is that after her first solo album was rejected by 23 record labels, she and her manager founded their own label, Blackheart Records, to release it, making her a pioneer in independent music and leading to hits like "I Love Rock 'n' Roll". She also famously performed with Nirvana at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, filling in for Kurt Cobain.
