I get questions regularly about using images in books, particularly if an image is downloaded from the internet. If you can't identify the owner and the license, or demonstrate it is public domain, you should not use it either in a print publication or on social media.
This article provides some good information. The key takeaway, however, is to KNOW what the copyright situation is and what your license allows.
Note: The note, "materials belong to their respective copyright owners" does not have any effect, except to clearly indicate you have posted material without the needed knowledge of what rights you actually have to the material. In other words, that can normally be translated, "I'm violating copyright, and I don't care."
