When the studio first expanded to a new location in SA, she was one of the first to attend. The room was definitely filled with loud and passionate actors from all levels. To other students, she seemed “quiet”. The reality was her patience as she deeply considered all. She was incredibly detailed in listening, viewing, weighing what was shared, etc. That made me believe in all of those benefitting her beautiful future.
She’s so controlled. Even now, her patience for the loud and energetic room full of actors talking over each other is majestic. I was amazed that in a situation where she was about to offer something verbal, she often sacrificially backed off and provided a moment for another instead. I suspected that this talent was due to an incredibly difficult life.
It can make preparation for a scene very frustrating when women keep their most intense struggles so deeply inside that even a “character” seems like someone not worth respect. But HER commitment was so great, she threw her hands up and tossed her entire typical way of dealing with things out to trust the training and make a difference.
She has been cast in everything - comedy and drama, TV series and films (including one with such a spiritual connection for me that I’ve watched it multiple times)! We also acted together in a comedy during an incredibly difficult time in my life which I will always appreciate. She was such a passionate studio supporter that she even helped me by taking on some youth classes before her teaching paths transferred to Spain for a year!
Ironically, those who meet might never know the extreme life challenges she has walked through, but continues to thrive past. Chicago helped move along her directing, writing, and producing and I will absolutely always want to see, hear, and feel any of her stories that will last for eternity.
