As of June 2026, Disney Cruise Line has updated its carry-on alcohol policy.

Each guest age 21 and older may now bring onboard either:

🍷 One unopened bottle of wine (750 mL or smaller)

OR

🍺 One six-pack of beer

Alcohol must be carried on in your carry-on luggage on embarkation day and is intended for consumption during your cruise.

🚂 DCL 101 is on the move… and headed to Alaska! 🏔️🚢

We’ll be sailing on the Disney Wonder soon, and we’d love to know what you want to see.

What Alaska cruise questions do you have? What should we cover while we’re onboard?

Excursions, Glacier Day, dining, staterooms, character experiences, packing tips, concierge, hidden ship details…

Drop your questions in the comments and we’ll do our best to answer them from Alaska. ⬇️

Most Disney cruisers know about onboard gifts… but many don’t realize just how many surprises you can have waiting in your stateroom when you arrive.

✨ Room decorations
🎂 Celebration cakes
🍾 Champagne, wine, and beer
🌺 Flowers
🛁 Cozy Disney Cruise Line robes
🧸 Blankets and other keepsakes

One of my favorite uses? Having grandparents, aunts, uncles, or friends purchase something ahead of time to surprise the kids when they open the stateroom door for the first time.

Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, anniversary, first cruise, or just want a little extra pixie dust, it’s a fun way to make embarkation day even more memorable.

Have you ever ordered an onboard gift package—or been surprised by one? 🎁

There are multiple verandah safety features that parents actually care about when deciding whether to book a DCL verandah stateroom 👇

🔒 Child-resistant locks on the verandah door — including a high lock that’s out of reach for little ones — help prevent kids from opening it on their own.
🛠️ The door itself is heavy and a bit tricky to operate, so even without locking it, it’s not easy for kids to open.
🛡️ On the veranda, the railings are tall (around 42″+) and covered with plexiglass — so there’s nothing for little feet to climb and nothing to wedge between.

Of course we always watch our kids — but these features are part of why so many families feel comfortable choosing a verandah room. 💙

🚢 Important update for Disney Cruise Line door decorators!

Disney Cruise Line has updated its door decorating policy. The good news? You can still decorate your stateroom door. 🎉

The change is that decorations are now limited to the stateroom door itself and are no longer permitted on the hallway walls, ceilings, or surrounding areas outside your room. Disney has also added a $100 fee per incident for damage caused by decorations that violate the policy. Tape, adhesives, and over-the-door organizers remain prohibited.

Door decorating is one of my favorite Disney Cruise traditions, and thankfully it’s not going away. Just make sure everything stays on your door and follows the updated guidelines.

🚨 Disney Cruise Line has quietly made changes to its alcohol carry-on policy!

Previously, adults could bring onboard 2 bottles of wine or 2 six-packs of beer at embarkation and at each port of call.

Under the new policy, adults may bring onboard just 1 bottle of wine or 1 six-pack of beer, and only on embarkation day.

Another significant change: if you purchase wine or beer in port, you can no longer bring it onboard to enjoy during your cruise. Any alcohol purchased ashore will be collected and stored by Disney until the end of the sailing.

We’re kind of bummed to see this change. Bringing back local wines and beers was a fun part of cruising, especially in destinations like Alaska and Europe. It was also a nice way to save a little money onboard while trying something unique from the places you visited.

What do you think about this change?

One of my favorite little Disney Cruise Line tips that so many first time cruisers miss! ✨

If you go into the photo section on your stateroom TV, your onboard photos will actually play as a slideshow right in your room. 📸📺

Kids LOVE seeing themselves “on TV,” and it’s also such an easy way for adults to review photos before deciding whether to purchase any. We usually check ours at night while getting ready for dinner or winding down after a busy port day. 🚢✨

Such a simple little feature, but it makes the cruise feel even more magical. ❤️

Have you tried this onboard yet?

🚢 DCL fans… this is one you’re not going to want to miss. 👀

Disney+ is bringing us a TWO-episode Behind the Attraction special focused entirely on Disney Cruise Line, premiering June 24! ⚓✨

From the story behind the fleet itself to a closer look at how Disney Destiny came to life, it looks like we’re finally getting an inside peek at some of the magic we all love so much. 💙

Who else will be watching the second it drops? 🙋‍♀️🚢
