“This Is Only Temporary,” an exhibition of artworks by Southeast alumna (Southeast Missouri State University Alumni Association) Candice Malyn Corgan opens today at the Arts Complex Gallery in the Southeast River Campus Arts Annex and Complex. “Ordinary Thoughts,” an exhibition of ceramic works by Southeast River Campus Department of Art and Design student artist Seraphina McAteer, is on view through Dec. 3 at Southeast Missouri State University's Catapult Creative House. University Communications is located in the Office of the President, Academic Hall Room 145. It is responsible for directing both internal and external University news. External communication is with television, radio, online, print and social media outlets throughout southeast Missouri, southern Illinois, northeastern Arkansas and western Kentucky. Internal news is communicated via the Southeast Newswire, portal and social media.

University Communications fields calls from area media seeking expert interviews with Southeast faculty and staff, and is the University’s liaison with radio, television, print and interactive media throughout the University’s service region. The director of University Communications serves as a University spokesperson. The office also manages emergency and crisis communication, and information about its SE Alerts emergency notification system is available at http://semo.edu/sealerts.

University Communications generates news and feature stories and distributes them to the media on campus issues, student successes, faculty research, arts and entertainment, upcoming events and Board of Regents news. It also is responsible for working with faculty, department chairs and administrators to identify and pitch stories with regional, national and local media appeal, and with coordinating news conferences.
