Saint Kay Media is officially launched, and our guests took the Ch*****ne portion of the evening very seriously.

44 people. 19 bottles of w**e, (12 of them Ch*****ne), 14 pizzas. 4 Charcuterie platters.

Then there was Kevin, our party crasher. 2 bottles of w**e, an entire pizza, and the confidence of a man who’d personally invited everyone. I’m out here talking about overcoming fear and putting yourself out there. Kevin apparently needed no further instruction.

Special love to Rodney and Brian at Cocoa Vino for gifting us a magnum of Ch*****ne and a mountain of chocolate. So generous. So thoughtful. I have never felt more seen.

And huge thanks to my husband Brian, Kylen, Georgia, Solomon, and James for helping bring this night to life.

What an amazing room of creative, curious, generous people showing up to laugh, play, share stories, and get a little ridiculous together.

This is why I wanted to build Saint Kay Media. Community first. Real people having real conversations, making things, trying things, and supporting each other along the way.

Looking around that room, I thought, yep, more of this.

Whether you were there or you’re just finding us, welcome. This is only the beginning, and I can’t wait for what’s next.

Today’s topic is self betrayal, and Kylen went first so Kenda would have to go second.

His is small and he will not call it small: one more hour of a good day, paid for with the whole next one. Hers is six nights in Paris and Ch*****ne that she spent anxious in beautiful rooms, because the girl who grew up in a VW van on welfare never signed off on the woman who can afford the hotel.

Also in here: the shoes her grandmother would not let her buy, a sommelier who pointed straight at the cheapest w**e on the menu, and the man she wrote off in the Galapagos for having three outfit changes a day.

Kenda quit a volleyball team because a coach threw her on the ground to show her how to dive. She kept playing. Plenty of kids in that position would not have — which is exactly the point about how much a coach matters.
