You're no doubt familiar with Lewis and Clark, but what about their time in Illinois? This week, the Illinois Backroads take us to Hartford, Illinois to visit the Lewis & Clark State Historic Site. This is where the Corps of Discovery spent the winter of 1803-04 preparing for its expedition. Explore life at Camp River Dubois, see a replica of their keelboat and what was packed in it for the journey, and find out how Cairo and Ft. Massac fit into the expedition's story.
