Eating Thai food around San Diego reminded me of my solo travels around Asia, including a monthlong trip around Thailand. A good friend from college, who grew up in Thailand, let me crash at his house in Bangkok, where he still lives today. His house was my base while I traveled to Phuket and nearby islands, eating and scuba diving. Cheers to the chefs who are cooking Thai cuisine in the US.

Here’s a piece I wrote about our stay in the Swiss Alps. The Swiss Travel Pass took us all over the country and we could use it for the train, boats, and museum visits. The incredibly efficient Glacier Express runs from Zermatt to St. Moritz with views of glaciers, valleys, and of course, the Swiss Alps.
