Located just off Route 17, Caret Cellars is an hour northeast of Richmond in Essex County, Virginia. Our winery provides an unpretentious and welcoming atmosphere with an Italian flair. We offer tastings and are planning for a win

e club soon. We are continuing to expand the winery and vineyard, and just completed a new tasting room. You can taste our wines at our unique bar as well as stepping down into our cellar production area where we can show you the winemaking process. Also, we are currently able to host outdoor events. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy a bottle of wine at a table or on the lawn overlooking the vineyard. We welcome your children and dogs to join you. Raised in a farming community in Walla Walla, Washington, R.D. served in the United States Air Force and worked as a government contractor before entering the wine business. Junghee has been a manager at the Quantico Marine Corps Exchange for over 20 years. Since planting the vineyard in 2007, both have been devoted to growing only the healthiest grapes which are key to producing great wine. and Junghee purchased the land for the vineyard in 2006, planted their grape vines in 2007, and built the winery in 2014. They are both pleased to offer a new spot where locals and tourists can meet, drink wine and have a relaxing time in a friendly environment.

At Caret Cellars, we believe good wine and good company come in all forms—including the four-legged kind. Whether your pup prefers sunbathing on the porch or sniffing out vineyard secrets, they’re welcome to join you for a relaxing visit.
